MANSFIELD — School Committee appoints Vitonis to vacant seat. The School Committee and Select Board jointly conducted interviews of four candidates and voted to appoint Jamie Vitonis to the open School Committee seat until the May election; Vitonis received five of eight total votes. In separate business, the Committee unanimously approved a 2026-2027 district calendar beginning September 1 for staff and September 2 for most grades, a reverse half-day schedule for high school MCAS testing, and a request for 200,000 dollars in capital improvements funding for the J/J roof schematic design under the state-backed MSBA Accelerated Repair Program, which reimburses over fifty percent of project costs.

Mansfield High School presented NEASC findings showing sixty-five percent of students enrolled in at least one AP course and sixty-three percent of graduates scoring three or above on AP exams.
