Mansfield School Committee Approves Superintendent Contract at $204,500
MANSFIELD — June 2, 2026 — Mansfield School Committee votes 4-0 to extend Superintendent Michelle McEwen's contract at $204,500 annually. The committee, meeting June 2, returned from executive session to approve a one-year extension pushing McEwen's contract to June 30, 2029, with a minimum 2.5 percent salary increase effective July 1, 2027, and a retention incentive moving to July 1, 2026. Earlier in the evening the committee honored 14 retiring staff members representing a combined 317 years of district service, with Select Board members Costas Lucas, Mark Corsillo, and Brendan Roach and a representative from Senator Paul Feeney's office presenting citations. In her summative evaluation read by Chair Jen Walsh, McEwen received a proficient rating across all four performance standards — her first formal evaluation after joining the district at the start of the 2025-26 school year. The committee also reorganized its working subcommittees for 2026-27 and set September 8 as the first meeting of the new school year.
