MANSFIELD — Planning Board selects Community Scale for Chapter 40R feasibility study. The board voted 5-0 to hire Community Scale as consultant for the County Street Smart Growth Overlay District Feasibility Study, authorizing contract negotiations after interviews with three competing firms. The study will evaluate redevelopment of a contaminated former Superfund site facing environmental deed restrictions and community concerns.
The Board also unanimously endorsed two Approval Not Required subdivision plans for 90 Park Street and 13 Webster Street, and referred a draft data center bylaw to the Select Board as a placeholder for the Spring Town Meeting, with regulations proposed to prohibit hyperscale facilities while allowing mid-sized co-location data centers by special permit in industrial zones.
