Recreation Commission approves field permits, raises program fees

Recreation Commission · Meeting of January 27, 2026

MANSFIELD — Recreation Commission approves facility permits and votes to raise youth program fees. Chairman Mitch Bregnard and Parks and Recreation Director Sherri H. Gurnon oversaw unanimous approval of seven field permits for spring and summer youth athletics and community events.

The Commission voted unanimously to increase Summer Camp fees by $10, Basketball League fees by $10, and establish a new $40 fee for Summer Volleyball, previously free. A completed feasibility study estimates $30 million for Memorial Park upgrades, and Gurnon reported the town is seeking Phase 1 funding for demolition of the 50 West Street building.
