Planning Board recommends rezoning parcel from Industrial to Residential
Planning Board · Meeting of April 8, 2026
MANSFIELD — Planning Board recommends rezoning parcel behind Erin's Center to residential. The Board voted 5-1 to recommend a citizen's petition rezoning 6.58 acres from Industrial I to Residence 2, with Chair Sharon Friedman and members Joseph Cerretani, Bryan Haworth, Ryan Maxwell, and Mark Corsillo voting in favor. The parcel has been vacant for 14 years since its 2012 industrial zoning failed to attract retail development; petitioner Bill Clemmey said a 55-plus senior housing community of 40 to 50 units is the most likely future use but requires special permit approval and further Board review.
Friedman emphasized the town's Housing Production Plan calls for diverse housing types including starter homes for younger residents.
