Select Board approves Cobb Street acceptance, reappoints Crowley to Registrar post
Select Board · Meeting of April 15, 2026
Mansfield Select Board accepts Cobb Street after two-decade clerical oversight. The board unanimously approved the acceptance of the remaining portion of Cobb Street, closing a procedural gap from a 2006 road-acceptance process that was never formally recorded with the Registry of Deeds. Chair Walter Wilk, Vice-Chair Michael Feck, Kostas Loukos, Maureen Doherty, and Robert Roche also reappointed Kelly Crowley to the Board of Registrar of Voters by a 3-2 vote after the board recalibrated its voting procedure.
Town Manager Mallory Aronstein briefed the board on a $1.4 million deficit requiring cuts, with a preliminary list of $752,380 in reductions and proposals to freeze non-union step increases, reduce town hall hours, and potentially increase retiree health care contributions from 25 percent to 30 percent — a move Doherty opposed. The board deferred votes on these measures, authorizing further analysis on employee incentives to switch health plans, effective January 1, 2027.
