Mansfield Holds Phase III Water Restrictions as Summer Demand Peaks

MANSFIELD — With Phase III mandatory outdoor water restrictions still in force since June 10, Mansfield residents head into another summer week under some of the tightest conservation rules the town imposes.

TOWN HALL

Mansfield's Phase III outdoor water restrictions, which took effect June 10, remain in place as the town works to protect its water supply during the summer demand season. Under Phase III — the most stringent tier of the town's water-restriction program — outdoor watering is permitted only on designated days and during specific hours. Residents are urged to check the town's alert center at mansfieldma.com for their assigned schedule and to comply promptly to help preserve the local water supply.

The town's June 2026 newsletter is also now available on the town website, featuring updates and information from departments, boards, and committees across municipal government. Separately, the town's Information Technologies department has issued a new cybersecurity communication this week, walking through a real-world scam scenario and practical steps for residents to protect themselves; past editions are archived on the IT department's webpage.

The Industrial Development Commission, working in collaboration with the Select Board and the state legislative delegation, has announced the Downtown Sign & Facade Improvement Program. The initiative aims to strengthen Mansfield's downtown business corridor by supporting improvements to storefronts and signage. Business owners in the downtown area are encouraged to visit the town website for details on eligibility and how to apply.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

Mansfield Public Library has announced two new services aimed at expanding access for residents. The library has unveiled a collection of memory kits — themed bags filled with conversation-starting activities designed for use between caregivers and individuals living with memory challenges. Each kit is built around a specific theme or time period to help spark meaningful interaction.

The library has also launched a home-delivery service for homebound patrons, bringing books and other library resources directly to residents who cannot make it to the building. Details on both programs are available at the library's website.

Looking ahead to this week, the library has a full slate of programs on Thursday and Friday. On Thursday, June 25, programs include Tales for Tails (all ages), Straw Weaving Bracelets (ages 6–12), Chess Club (all ages), and D&D at the Library: Encounters (ages 18 and up). On Friday, June 26, the library offers Baby Story Time (ages zero to 18 months), Family Place Playtime, and a Family Movie Matinee open to all ages.
