Mansfield IT Office Issues New Cyber Scam Warning To Residents

MANSFIELD — Mansfield's Information Technologies office this week issued a new cybersecurity communication warning residents about a common cyber scam scenario and how to resolve it, the latest in a running series of public safety alerts posted to the town website.

TOWN HALL

The town's IT department published this week's cybersecurity letter outlining a scenario in which a resident encounters a cyber scam, along with steps for resolving it. The office noted that previous installments of the series remain archived on the Information Technologies webpage for residents who want to review past scam scenarios.

Elsewhere at Town Hall, work continues on several fronts already familiar to residents: runway and taxiway construction at Mansfield Municipal Airport, which began July 13, continues to affect traffic near 265 Fruit Street, the town's Phase III water restrictions remain in effect since June 10, and the town clerk's office continues pointing voters to key dates ahead of the state primary.

COMING UP

Several town boards and committees meet in the week ahead. The Animal Welfare Committee and the Finance Committee are both scheduled to meet Thursday, Aug. 20. The School Committee's Policy Subcommittee meets Monday, Aug. 24, followed by the Parks & Recreation Commission on Tuesday, Aug. 25, and an amended Planning Board agenda on Wednesday, Aug. 26.
