MANSFIELD — Finance Committee approves aerial mapping transfer, addresses budget crisis. The committee unanimously backed a $31,485 transfer across five town funds for aerial mapping, with Town Manager Mallory Aronstein citing the need to complete the work before trees leaf out. Aronstein disclosed a $698,734.57 snow and ice deficit and announced a spending freeze effective April 8, with hiring pauses except for the budgeted Library Director position.

The committee unanimously supported Annual Town Meeting warrant articles 1 and 3-23, with a 3-0 vote on Article 2 (two abstentions). Mansfield Educators Association President Scott DuPont testified during public comment that 22 teachers were dismissed and urged support for an override.
