Mansfield Select Board reorganizes, raises green sticker fee to $40
MANSFIELD — May 20, 2026 — Mansfield's newly reorganized Select Board doubled the town's transfer station sticker fee and approved increases across seven departments at its May 20 reorganization meeting. Walter Wilk was elected chair, Costas Dimopoulos vice chair, and Mark Corsillo clerk; Michael Feck was named chair of the Light Commissioners. The board set the Mansfield Green sticker at $40 — up from $20 — effective January 1, 2027, with no increase for seniors and a new $5 replacement fee, as part of a broader fee package covering the Building Department, Conservation Commission, Fire Department, Planning Board, Water Department, and Zoning Board of Appeals, most unchanged since 2018 or earlier. Town Manager Mallory Aronstein, who recommended a $35 sticker, said the increases reflect the true cost of delivering services and keep Mansfield competitive with neighboring towns. A proposed revision to the town's flag policy limiting the official flagpole to governmental flags was continued without a vote pending town counsel review of a ceremonial flagpole approach modeled on a policy in Attleboro.
