Mansfield Planning Board Continues Hotel Permit Hearing, Votes to Seek $100,000 for Master Plan
MANSFIELD -- September 26, 2018, Mansfield Planning Board votes to seek $100,000 for master plan update and continues hotel special permit. The board unanimously approved placing a $100,000 warrant article on the November special town meeting to fund the first update of the town's 2008 Comprehensive Plan, with planning staff citing the town's need to compete for grants against all 351 Massachusetts cities and towns. The board also voted unanimously to continue the special permit public hearing for a proposed hotel, restaurant, and retail complex at 10 and 30 Reservoir Street to October 3, after engineer Robert Rigo of Riverhawk presented letters confirming wastewater capacity in the Mansfield-Norton-Foxborough treatment district and described a traffic signal at Reservoir Street and South Main Street that would improve the intersection's level of service from F to B. Staff confirmed that no zoning articles would go to the fall special town meeting, with downtown zoning changes deferred to spring annual town meeting pending work with transit-oriented development consultant Beta Group and parking consultant Nelson Neigar.
