Mansfield animal shelter raises spay-neuter deposit to $100
Animal Welfare Committee · Meeting of May 21, 2026
Mansfield animal shelter increases spay-neuter deposit to $100. The Animal Welfare Committee approved the increase from $40, determining the higher deposit better aligns with veterinary costs when residents are referred to Love is Life for services. The committee also amended dog-walking procedures: dogs on hold will be walked only in one direction from the shelter, and the front door will be locked when dogs occupy the lobby.
The committee declined a Trupanion pet insurance partnership due to municipal regulations. Present were committee members Carol Kosel, Sharon Baker, Amy Tarlton, and Shannon Dempsey, with Animal Control Officer Francesca Politsopoulos and Shelter Coordinator Jada Lebron.
