The Town of Mansfield announced that crews will flush fire hydrants overnight on Thursday, Oct. 22, from midnight to 6 a.m.
The work will take place on East Street, Cavan Crossing, Kerry Drive, Kal's Way, Weaver Lane, Cooper Road, Sadie's Way, Necco Road, Anthony Road, North Street, Eastbrook Road, Jason Lane, Winslow Way, Conrod Court, Roy Road and Mill Street.
Hydrant flushing is a routine maintenance practice that helps clear sediment from water lines.
The town also offered a water conservation tip, noting that a slow drip from a leaking faucet or waterline connection can waste as much as 170 gallons of water each day, or 5,000 gallons per month, adding to a resident's water bill. The town encouraged residents to check all waterline connections and faucets for leaks.
