Select Board approves retiree health plan cost shift, Xfinity venue license renewal.
Select Board · Meeting of May 6, 2026
Mansfield Select Board unanimously approves Xfinity Center license and extends venue entertainment hours. The board voted 5-0 to renew the 2026 Xfinity Center License Agreement and extended alcohol and entertainment hours to 11:30 p.m. for five major concerts, with Police Chief Sellon and Fire Chief Desrosiers both endorsing the arrangement as the smoothest licensing process in recent years and financially sound. In a separate 4-0 vote, the board modified the retiree PPO healthcare contribution ratio from 75/25 to 60/40 effective July 4, 2026, then to 50/50 effective July 1, 2027, a move that could save up to $182,000 annually.
Ms. Doherty recused herself from healthcare votes. The board also appointed Town Manager Mallory Aronstein to the SRPEDD Joint Transportation Planning Group with DPW Director Josh Reinke as alternate.
