School Committee · Meeting of October 27, 2026

MANSFIELD — The Mansfield School Committee voted 3-0 to revise ten policies, including three tied to Title IX, after federal regulators rescinded 2024 rules. Chair Jen Walsh said the district's attorney built a model policy blending reinstated 2020 federal Title IX regulations with existing district language for the non-discrimination, sexual harassment and Title IX procedures policies. The committee also voted 3-0 to add two new policies, on homebound instruction and service animals, and to remove 13 redundant policies from the manual.

Separately, the board approved a revived Mansfield High School Ski Club and its Pat's Peak field trip after teachers Michael Gancher and Tom Flamini pitched the program, and accepted a $25,000 Early College Planning Grant, a Middle School Career Connected Learning grant, and a $300 donation from John's Dream Ice Cream. A resident identified as Linda Corpo pressed finance staff on which revolving funds run deficits; staff said band and orchestra classes for younger students have periodically come in under-enrolled relative to costs.
