Mansfield Bicycle & Pedestrian Network Steering Committee charts two-year planning timeline.

Mansfield Bicycle & Pedestrian Network Steering Committee with SRPEDD · Meeting of March 30, 2026

Mansfield's Bicycle & Pedestrian Network Steering Committee established a two-year planning timeline during its March 30 inaugural meeting at Town Hall. Sarah Raposa, Director of Planning & Development, presented the project's scope: development of an "all ages and abilities" network integrating transportation and recreational uses, with completion targeted for September 2027. The committee approved a public engagement strategy including a virtual meeting on April 30, Planning Board presentation on June 10, focus groups with business owners, seniors, students, and trail users, and Farmers Market outreach on July 11.

Initial data showed significant sidewalk gaps across town and identifiable high-injury locations, with committee members citing high vehicle speeds, dangerous crossings, and limited safe on-road alternatives as key safety concerns.
