Mansfield Board of Health approves routine items, explores battery storage concerns. Acting Chair Emily Beura led the Board through unanimous approval of the consent agenda and March 12 meeting minutes, both approved 4-0. Board members John McGarry and Chris West reported on the Plymouth Massachusetts Association of Health Board Certificate Program and presented a case study on Battery Energy Storage Systems, highlighting environmental impacts from mining materials, waste and recycling challenges, and fire and explosion hazards.
The Board voted to pursue further study of BESS. Amy Donovan-Palmer updated the Board on Body Art Apprenticeship Regulations revisions being developed with reference materials from the Association of Professional Piercers and Virginia state standards.
