Mansfield Airport Runway Project, Budget Focus Groups Launch This Week

MANSFIELD — Mansfield Municipal Airport is set to begin a major runway and taxiway renovation project Monday, July 13, as town officials separately launch a summer-long push to gather resident feedback on the municipal budget.

TOWN HALL

The airport, located at 265 Fruit Street, will begin site improvement work Monday involving renovations and upgrades to its runway and taxiway areas, according to a town traffic advisory. The DPW's Highway Division likewise has several road construction projects scheduled for the summer, the town said in a separate notice, though specific streets and timelines were not detailed.

The Town Manager is planning a series of community focus groups this summer to gather resident ideas, feedback and perspectives on issues affecting Mansfield, including the town's budget plan, according to a town announcement inviting residents to "join the conversation." Specific dates and locations for the sessions were not included in the announcement.

The town also released its July Town Newsletter, featuring updates from departments, boards and committees, and circulated its latest weekly cybersecurity communication, walking residents through a recent cyber-scam scenario as part of an ongoing effort to help residents spot and avoid online fraud.
